The lighting in your kitchen should be determined by three things
- General or Ambient lighting which is needed for simple everyday tasks and is usually provided by ceiling lighting.
- Work or task lighting which usually occurs over ranges and sinks.
- Ambiance lighting which is typically under and over cabinets or inside glass cabinets that highlight the contents. Ambiance lighting provides
charm to any kitchen.
- Recessed - Great for Ambient lighting. Dimmer Switches are almost as important as the lights!
- Hanging Pendants - Highly decorative lighting with colored glass and metals. Perfect for kithcen island lighting or dining area lights. Pendants create a stylish warm feel and add class to
a custom kitchen.
- Under Cabinet - Small bulbs at lower wattage create warmth and ambiance under or over cabinets. Nice for larger kitchens with vaulted ceilings.
